It was an evening of tribute galore for the immediate past Sole Administrator of the Akawe Torkula College of Advanced and Professional Studies (ACAPS), Dr. Tyotom Keghku as the the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Benue State Chapter held a reading in his honour .
The event which took place on the 11
th October, 2018 at the NUJ House, Makurdi was put together to celebrate Dr. Keghku’s numerous contributions to the Association and Humanity in general.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of ANA, Benue State Chapter, Mr. Charles Iornumbe, described the celebrant as a man of integrity and honour with lots of achievements to his name. He noted that Dr. Keghku is an agent of conflict management and resolution whose impacts on ACAPS remains indelible,adding that during his tenure at the institution, social vices like cultism and students unrest were barely heard of because he always interfaced with students and the host communities on their challenges and how best they can be resolved.
The ANA chairman disclosed that Dr. Keghku is a generous contributor to ANA and called on him to sustain the kind gesture.
On his part, Chairman of the occasion, Professor Armstrong Adejo said Dr. Keghku is an outstanding fellow, a great man, adding that as one who knows the celebrant very well, the honour done to him by ANA is not out of place.
Professor Adejo further called on him to be proud of the recognition and thanked ANA for the honour as they have actually found someone in Dr. Keghku who deserved the honour.
The occasion had in attendance friends of the celebrant and great writers like Dr. Mrs Maria Ajima, Vesta Abah, Elvis Ogenyi, Comfort Ukwela and several others who all rendered their readings in honour of Dr. Keghku.
