Governorship Standard Bearer of the Social Democratic Party(SDP)for Benue State in next year’s general elections, Dr. Stephen Hwande says Benue has been relegated among the comity of states and is fast assuming a pariah status.

Dr. Hwande who stated this yesterday, 17th November at State Secretariat of SDP during the official presentation of him to the public as the Governorship Flag Bearer of the party for next year’s polls noted that there is a widening gap in accountability due to lack of planning and clear direction towards development which is a manifestation of failed policies, poor planning and management, irrational decisions, over politicization, lack of vision and a looming culture of mediocrity.

He disclosed that his aspiration is spurred by an aggregated interest to rescue Benue from the hands of traditional political warlords who held the state in their exclusive patrimony, adding that he was prompted to provide a workable and dynamic alternative that will deepen democratic governance.

The SDP Guber Flag Bearer further disclosed that he will provide an alternative template of a four year recovery intervention plan to pursue a five point agenda in the following areas of Agriculture, Education, industrialisation, healthcare delivery and youth empowerment scheme,  which shall be premised on service and accountability with focus on contemporary knowledge techniques to drive the revolution for a modern Benue.

Earlier, State Chairman of the SDP , Engr John Enemari disclosed that the party would to do things differently and change things for the better in the state and urged all the party faithfuls to remain committed to it and put aside greed so that it can move forward.

He further disclosed that a workshop will soon be held between in the party to address the issues of the primaries to douse the tension from the exercise.

The Ceremony witnessed heavy presence of security and the twenty three local government chairmen and other party stalwarts.
