Five suspected kidnappers

The police in Ekiti State say five suspected kidnappers have been arrested by a combined team of the police, NSCDC, Amotekun, O.P.C, and local hunters in the state.

The suspected kidnappers were apprehended on Tuesday by the team while on a bush combing operation through Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah to the thick forest around Iju/Ikere boundary.

The suspects are USMAN JELILI, MOHAMMED BANDE, ABUBAKAR ALIU, ISAH ABDULAHI, and SULEIMAN ABDULAHI.

According to a statement by the Spokesman of the Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Abutu Sunday, upon interrogation, the suspects claimed to be herdsmen but it was later discovered that none of them had cattle and no cattle was found with them in the forest where they were arrested.

The statement said two motorcycles, one cutlass, one jackknife/dagger, and four phones were found on them.
